Potty training boys usually begins later than girls. Research indicates girls usually
develop control of their bladder and bowel muscles
earlier than boys.
However, it is important to remember each child is an individual. Potty training should not begin until the child is ready both physically and emotionally.
Before beginning potty training boys (or girls) it is important you lay down the foundations for success. Amongst other things this means teaching your child the words associated with using a potty. Words such as pee, poo, wet, dry. The best time to do this is when you are changing a diaper.
